Williston, North Dakota
Groundbreaking ceremonies were held for Microtel Inns and Suites today in Williston. The event was held at the hotel construction site located behind Trapper’s Kettle Restaurant. Braxton Development of Bozeman, MT is the developer and owner of the project. The family run business is owned by Terry Braxton, Andrew Braxton and Jon Braxton. Braxton Development is also building a Microtel Inn & Suites in Dickinson.
Microtel Inns and Suites is a member of the Wyndham Hotel Group of lodging brands and offers the frequency program Wyndham Rewards for guests.
Microtel is the fastest growing all new construction hotel brand today with over 300 properties open worldwide and 30 under construction. Williston hospitality officials say the new hotel will be a nice addition to the community’s current inventory. “If you plan ahead, there are rooms available in Williston. But this will certainly help with the availability issue we are dealing with,” says Amy Krueger of the Williston Convention and Visitors Bureau.
Jon Braxton says the four-story; 77-room hotel will cater to all types of guests. “We are doing things so the rooms can be used for either weekend or longer stays.” Each of the rooms will have a refrigerator, microwave, flat panel television, free local and long distance calling in the continental U.S., free deluxe continental breakfast and free wired and wireless internet connection. The suites will also incorporate sleek granite counter tops and four “zones” with space to work, eat, sleep and relax.
“We are excited to be a part of the Williston Community and we feel this new hotel will be a great asset that is needed in the area. Our goal is to create a high-quality hotel with great amenities, and outstanding customer satisfaction for guests,” says Jon Braxton. Other amenities will be an indoor pool and spa, 24-hour fitness area, a covered outdoor grilling patio, and a locker room with NFL-sized lockers with boot dryers in every locker. The locker room will also include commercial washers and dryers for guests.
Contractors hope to have the hotel open for guests by mid-June, 2011. For an unprecedented ninth year Microtel has been ranked highest in guest satisfaction among economy hotel chains in the JD Power and Associates 2010 North America Hotel Guest Satisfaction Index Study. An accomplishment no other hotel or company has ever achieved according to JD Power and Associates.
